Rebecca Gaba, Ph.D., L.M.F.T.

Dr. Rebecca Gaba, Director of Clinical Operations, joined Didi Hirsch Community Mental Health Center in 2008. She received a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Graduate School of Psychology at Fuller Theological Seminary, and a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Mt. St. Mary’s College. A Licensed Marriage, Family, and Child Therapist with nearly 25 years of experience, Dr. Gaba is a nationally recognized presenter and trainer, specializing in trauma related mental health issues, especially community and family violence.

She recently returned to Los Angeles from Falls Church, Virginia where she was the Chief Operating Officer for the Center for Multicultural Human Services, a community based agency dedicated to mental health and self-sufficiency programs for refugee and immigrant populations. Fluent in Spanish herself, she led a staff that spoke more than 30 languages. Prior to that, she worked at Children’s Institute Inc. in Los Angeles, where she was a Senior Director of Programs, overseeing the Child Trauma Center and Family Violence Services. 

A longtime advocate for services to children, youth, and families, Dr. Gaba is a strong proponent of a systems approach to community mental health. She has participated in a broad spectrum of State, County, and City workgroups and organizations, supporting greater collaboration among service delivery sectors.
