Adult Services

Caregivers Support Groups
We offer support groups for the caregivers of older adults with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia, as well as for people caring for frail elderly family members.

Crisis Residential Care
Jump Street and Excelsior House are crisis residential treatment centers, providing a 28-day program for adults experiencing serious problems due to mental illnesses. Residents may have been homeless or at risk of homelessness. The program gets them stabilized, provides treatment for their mental illnesses, finds long-term housing and connects them to on-going treatment programs.

To aid our crisis residential clients in their recovery, we have begun a crisis residential client bulletin, which connects former and current clients in a supportive, online community and continually provides updates on community resources to fit their needs.

Employment Services
Our employment services help adults with chronic mental illnesses find a job. Clients learn computer skills, resume building, and interview strategies, such as how to dress appropriately for job interviews. After finding employment, clients continue to receive supportive services to help them be successful in the workplace.

Intensive Mental Health Services/Full Service Partnerships
We provide specialized services for adults with serious mental illnesses, which have led to frequent hospitalizations or homelessness. Staff members work with clients in community settings such as work, home, hospitals, and courts to help them remain in the community, reduce their symptoms, and improve their quality of life. Staff members have small caseloads to ensure individualized attention. Services are provided daily if needed. Staff help clients with a variety of issues including obtaining transportation, medication and primary health care, educational or employment opportunities, and financial or health benefits.

To make the process of obtaining care as simple as possible for severely mentally ill clients, we offer Drop-in Centers at our Culver City and Inglewood sites. At the Drop-in Centers, individuals can receive a mental health assessment, help with access to services, group counseling, prepared lunches, peer support, and more. The program also partners with the National Alliance on Mental Illness, whose peer advocates are onsite providing peer support and serving as mentors.

Our Drop-in Centers also feature a psychosocial Clubhouse. It provides support, social opportunities, and skill building activities for adults with chronic mental illnesses. Members can participate in group activities that help to reduce feelings of isolation, take a variety of computer classes, and contribute to a Clubhouse newsletter. The Clubhouse is self-governing, but is guided by staff members, who also offer therapy groups.

Outpatient Treatment for Adults
Programs at our headquarters and Inglewood Center provide outpatient mental health services to adults with serious mental illnesses, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and severe depression. Our trained mental health staff provides individual and group therapy, case management, and psychiatric medication management.

In addition to the services listed above, adult clients may find our resource guide a helpful tool for connecting them with service providers.
